PTI's Create Along With Us: November 2017

Hooray!  It's release week at PTI again, and that means Create Along With Us!  I really missed this last month.  I love seeing all the DT's use of products and techniques--it's when I feel the most inspired to create!  This month, Lizzie Jones' Snowfall Style card caught my eye:

I grabbed my What The Doodle: Snowflakes set and got to work!  I started with a Dark Indigo base, and cut a top panel from white card stock.  Using three different shades of blue and multiple sizes of snowflakes, I stamped down the side and across the bottom.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set, and finished it off with some drops of Diamond Ice Stickles in the center of each flake.  I'm with Lizzie--gotta have some winter sparkle!

PTI's Create Along With Us: December 2016

I love so many of the new products and designs revealed this month over at Papertrey Ink, but the To Have & To Hold set particularly caught my eye.  The delicate pastels and flowers it showcased are so pretty!  I especially liked Laurie Schmidlin's take on it.

For my card, I cut a heart-shaped hole from my panel using a die from Heart Prints, and added floral images around it.  I stamped leafy prints from Turning a New Leaf in New Leaf and Mint Julep, and die cut the flower and heart from Flipping Out in Amethyst Allure, Lovely Lady, and Pale Peony.  I adhered the panel to some amethyst card stock and added a white embossed sentiment from Heart PrintsFeeling inspired to make some Valentines now!

PTI's Create Along With Us: October 2016

I am so excited about this month's new releases from PTI, especially since I have been "hoping" for "Hope" in the Inspired Collection for awhile now...and Betsy Veldman is delivering!  One of my favorite parts of the new release is the Create Along With Us Challenge, a creative way to pass time until we can buy the new products! showcase projects inspired by the designers' use of the new products.

This month Nicole Heady's ornament card caught my eye.  I love looking at twinkling lights and ornaments on a tree, so decided to make mine a little more shiiiiiiiiny, as my son likes to say!  I was also inspired by this card I found on Pinterest awhile ago.

For my card, I began by die cutting three white circles from PTI's small Limitless Layers set.  I stamped them with the Flourish Background Cling Stamp from Hero Arts, the poinsettia from PTI's Year of Flowers Collection, and the star of Bethlehem from Paper Smooche's A Blessed Christmas.  I embossed the images in green, red, and gold, respectively, and added gold embossed ribbons and bows from PTI's Balloon Bash set to "hang" them from the top of the card.  A gold embossed sentiment from A Blessed Christmas and a white card base finished it off!  Hope you enjoy the rest of release week!  Happy stamping!

PTI's Create Along With Us: September 2016

IMG_9793With temps still in the 80's here in Virginia I am having a hard time getting in the mood for fall card making, let alone Christmas!  But I loved so many of the designs by Heather Nichols this release that I just had to jump in!  I was mostly inspired by this beautiful, classy card.  I love the simplicity of the green and gold greens along with the single sentiment.

I used the holly leaves from Spruce & Sprigs for my greenery, along with some berry clusters from the same set.  I die cut the leaves on white cardstock and then stamped them with Pinefeather Ink.  I used my Candy Apple Distress Ink for the berries, and grouped them together with the holly leaves in the left hand corners of the card front.  My sentiment came from Paper Smooches' A Blessed Christmas and was stamped again in Candy Apple.  I layered the card front on Pinefeather card stock and ta-da!  I made a Christmas card :)

This card is also entered in Simon Says Stamp's "Clean and Simple" Wednesday Challenge.

PTI's Create Along With Us: August 2016

Fall is my absolute favorite season.  The cooler weather, vibrant colors, and anticipation of holidays all bring me joy!  So I've been pretty excited to follow along with the release countdown this month and check out all the beautiful fall designs!  I especially loved this card by Betsy Veldman.
For the challenge I decided to make a similar card, with the intent of sending it to a dear friend whose grandma is in her last days. I started with a Classic Kraft base with a layer of Rustic Cream card stock.  I stamped an image from Turning A New Leaf in New Leaf over a 2 3/4" square of Classic Kraft.  The sentiment from Inspired: Prayer was also stamped in New Leaf, and I added a double die cut layer in Rustic Cream of the word prayer from the same set.  Hope the coming season brings ya'll peace and comfort as well!

PTI's Create Along With Us: July 2016

Reaching For The Stars CardThere are soooo many stamps and dies in this months' release that I am excited about!  One is the Galaxy Background, and I love love love this card by Lizzie Jones!  I used to live out in the country in northern New York, and on clear nights we could see the Milky Way.  This reminds me of those nights!  I have been using Star Scribbles to make a few cards lately, so it was a natural jump to make my own version.

I blended Distress Ink in Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, and Black Soot (why oh why don't I have Chipped Sapphire?!) onto my Ranger Watercolor card stock until I had the shading the way I wanted, spritzed it with my Perfect Pearls mister, and then stamped individual stars from Star Scribbles several times at the top.  I embossed them with silver glitter so they could sparkle in the night sky!  To remind me of nights standing in our field gazing up at the sky, I added blades of grass from Daydreamer, stamped in Black Soot, to the bottom.  I finished it off with a white embossed sentiment from Daydreamer and layered it over white and navy card stock.  Sweet summer dreams!
