Sonshine for me!

I have been pretty crabby the last two mornings, for various reasons.  And while I know I can't perfectly keep my feelings from affecting my actions, oh, how my heart aches when my little man looks up at me in pain or even runs away in sadness because I've hurt him.  Yelling, rushing, failing to show compassion...these are not memories I want my son to have of me.  So  I prayed, I cried, I apologized and asked both God and my little man for forgiveness.  And when I put his loving little self down for a nap, I went straight to my Bible.  Which I really need to work on doing earlier in the day!
As the cloudy skies outside matched my grey mood inside, I decided I needed to read about sunshine.  Heading to my concordance I read over most every verse I could find.  This section stuck out:
“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
“Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.
“See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
Both judgement and promise, in the same verses!  I needed the reminder of God's healing love (v.2), but also of the consequences of sin (v. 1, 3, 5).  Lord, fill me with patience and right priorities!  Let me shine for You!
